Despite improvement in 2018, progress on energy efficiency needs to be stepped up

EU energy consumption fell in 2018, following a rise in 2014-2017, but a considerable acceleration in this reduction is needed if the 2020 target for energy efficiency is to be achieved, according to the Commission’s annual progress report on energy efficiency.
