Accessible online in 24 languages, the new “Art in Democracy” exhibition examines democracy through the eyes of various European artists. It explores the relationship between art and democracy through a selection of artworks in various forms and styles from the European Parliament’s Contemporary Art Collection. All the pieces offer a personal interpretation of several aspects of democracy such as diversity, inclusiveness, and freedom of expression.
For teachers, the exhibition also comes with a pedagogical kit to help you bring the artworks alive and convey their message to their students.
Are you planning to travel to Brussels in the weeks to come? The exhibit is accessible in person at the Parlamentarium until 7 January. After this, it will remain available online and as part of a full visit to the Parliament until June.
