Just one number to remember: 112!

11 February was European 112 day. What better opportunity to teach the youngest members of society to remember the European emergency number: left thumb up for 1, right thumb up for 1, both thumbs together for 2.

European Union

date:  27/02/2023

112 is Europe’s emergency number. It can be called by anyone in danger or distress, free of charge, from any of the 27 Member States of the European Union.

Whether you need the fire brigade, medical assistance or the police, you can simply dial the same number, 112.

The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and you don’t even need to unlock your mobile phone to make the call.

Your call will take priority over all other calls, so you will always get through, even when the network is very busy.

Do your pupils know this number? Why not talk to them about it in class?
