The Integrated Assessment Modeling Consortium (IAMC) announces the Eighteenth IAMC Annual Meeting to be held on November 11-13, 2025 at Hotel Atlantico Búzios, located in the city of Armação dos Búzios, state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Building on this, the second workshop will provide insights on tracking the gap between current policies and targets aligned with the Paris Agreement. The presenters will discuss possible solutions and invite members from national teams to share their insights on how they track and communicate the actual progress of implementation of current climate policies in their own countries.
May’s RE-CONNECT modelling workshop series focuses on the role of national policies and commitments, notably Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) and Long-Term Strategies (LTS) to bridge implementation and ambition gaps. The two interactive workshops will focus on deepening the understanding of modelling techniques – selecting and implementing national and international climate policies and targets to accelerate transition to climate neutrality.
In the first workshop we will outline the fundamental principles for using models to assess current climate policies, Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) and Long-Term Strategies (LTS). Researchers will present insights on how to select climate policies and will give an overview of the process of quantification of policies and pledges (NDCs and LTS).

COP29 is a global summit focused on addressing climate change and its impacts. It brings together world leaders, scientists, and activists to negotiate and set policies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and implementing climate action. Scheduled for 2024, it will continue efforts to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement and keep global temperature rise below 1.5°C.
The IAMC Annual Meeting is a scientific meeting intended for peer sharing and vetting. The meeting is open to all registered participants. Researchers from organisations involved in integrated assessment modelling and their research collaborators are warmly encouraged to attend.
ECEMP 2024 is dedicated to showcasing the latest policy-relevant findings derived from analyses of climate and energy models. The event also serves as a meeting point to discuss latest research trends in developing collaborative modelling exercises.
The EU PVSEC (Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition) is the largest international conference for photovoltaic research, technologies and applications and at the same time a PV industry exhibition. The conference's scientific programme is coordinated by the European Commission's Joint Research Centre.
