Facebook is proud to introduce our first sustainability programme, aimed at inspiring and educating small and medium sized businesses across the EU on how they can embrace the green transition.

The LIFE Awards recognise the most innovative, inspirational and effective LIFE projects in the fields of nature protection, environment and climate action. Winners from each of these 3 categories will be voted by expert jury members and announced on the day of the Ceremony. A fourth category is set for the LIFE Citizen's Prize.

The European Commission and the EP Intergroup have joined forces to organise a discussion on the critical success factors and key enablers for the new EU Strategy on Adaptation to Climate Change and the Mission Adaptation with MEPs and other stakeholders, including ways for mobilising national, regional and local engagement and ownership.

The event will provide an overview of the project applications invited to the second stage of the large-scale call, and present lessons learnt and best practices. It will also provide an overview of the applications received for the small-scale call and present the results of the applicants’ survey on the application process. Finally, it will give an outlook on the second round of Innovation Fund calls planned for the fourth quarter of 2021.

The session will focus on how the Pact’s approach can benefit the Just Transition Mechanism by involving people, cities and companies in a futureproof development of fossil-fuel dependent and carbon-intensive regions or industries.

The European Commission and the European Environment Agency are organising a Policy Dialogue to promote discussion on the interlinkages between climate change and health, the goals and tools of the European Climate and Health Observatory, and how it can provide value for different users in the future. Taking part in the interactive panel discussion will be experts from observatory partner organisations and user groups.

This Policy Dialogue will serve as an opportunity to discuss the European Commission’s new Strategy on Climate Adaptation. The discussion will focus on the challenges, and prospects of creating a climate-resilient built-environment that can bring wider benefits for the environment, society and the economy.

The launch event with Executive Vice-President Frans Timmermans will feature an introduction to the first EU Climate Pact Ambassadors, a discussion on upcoming Climate Pact pledges and talks by special guests about the actions we can all take to combat climate change. The event will be fully virtual and in English, but can also be viewed in several EU languages.
