Cleaner air for a better game

Millions of us in Europe love football. However, the cleanliness of air breathed by players can have a huge impact on the game itself. To raise awareness of this problem, the European Climate Pact is teaming up with UEFA, the governing body of football in Europe, for their public awareness campaign “Cleaner Air, Better Game”.

 
Expert workshop on the Market Stability Reserve - Recording

Vivid Economics organised on 24 March 2021 an expert workshop on the Market Stability Reserve, as part of a contract with the European Commission. China, the EU and Canada co-convene the 5th Ministerial on Climate Action

China’s Minister for Ecology and Environment, Huang Runqiu, the European Commission’s Executive Vice-President, Frans Timmermans, and the Canadian Minister for Environment and Climate Change, Jonathan Wilkinson, co-convened on 23 March 2021 the 5th session of the Ministerial on Climate Action (MoCA).

Collecting real-world data on the CO2 emissions and fuel consumption of new cars and vans

The real-world fuel and energy consumption of new cars and vans will be collected as of 2021 under a new Implementing Regulation adopted by the Commission on 4 March 2021. This data will make it possible to monitor the gap between type approval and actual CO2 emissions, and will provide a better understanding of how vehicles perform under real-world driving conditions.

 
Keeping healthy in a changing climate - Recording

During this virtual conference on 4 March 2021, the European Commission and the European Environment Agency launched the European Climate and Health Observatory and discussed the connections between climate change and health. The recording of the event is available online.

Citizens' Dialogue online in Spain with EVP Frans Timmermans - Recording

The Citizens’ Dialogue “A Pact for People and Planet: Talking Climate Action with Frans Timmermans”, was part of a Citizens’ Dialogue series to discuss how everyone can participate in building a greener Europe and what the European Union is doing. Executive Vice-President Frans Timmermans debated live on 26 February 2021 with representatives of various youth associations, citizens and Climate Pact Ambassadors from Spain.
