Collaborative Efforts for Algae Standards: A Meeting Recap

Discover how key players from EU4Algae, EABA, DG MARE, and CEN/TC 454 are shaping the future of algae standards. In this meeting recap, we dive into the latest discussions on standardisation needs and the exciting potential of algae across industries.

date:  22/11/2024

The algae sector is still growing and has huge potential, but it needs all the help it can get to build trust in the market, especially regarding standards. That's precisely what the meeting in Brussels on 13 November 2024 focused on — discussing the future of algae standardisation and what CEN committee 454 should focus on next.

EU4Algae, EABA (European Algae Biomass Association), DG MARE, and CEN/TC 454 came together to share their insights and thoughts on the matter. The possibilities for algae are incredible — whether it's used as aquafeed, a source of omega-3s (yes, the omega-3s found in fish come from algae!), or even for cosmetics. The opportunities are endless!
