Key messages from the 2nd CMA Steering Group under the Turkish coordination

On June 14th 2021, the second CMA Steering group was organised under Turkish coordination and the following points were discussed.

  • Georgia has been endorsed as the CMA coordinating country for 2022.
  • CMA countries are giving further consideration to the possible establishment of an informal working group to address underwater heritage, having initially expressed their strong interest, given its relevance to the Black Sea coastal and maritime tourism sector.
  • CMA countries shared their views on defining the concept of “Flagship Projects” for CMA implementation taking into consideration initiatives from other sea basins (WestMED, EUSAIR and Atlantic Action Plan).
  • The Black Sea SRIA draft implementation plan was presented by the Black Sea CONNECT Coordinator. Upcoming events, updates related to alignment of flagships and project definition with SRIA, joint actions and partnerships were also discussed.
