„Point Vert“: Versuchsflächen für Anfänger/innen im Erwerbsgartenbau
Die lokale Aktionsgruppe (LAG) Pays des Condruses in Belgien bietet jungen Unternehmerinnen und Unternehmern für einen Zeitraum von 18 Monaten entgeltfrei Parzellen (Versuchsflächen von 0,1 ha bis 1 ha) für den biologischen Erwerbsgartenbau sowie entsprechende Schulungs- und Beratungsmaßnahmen an. Die Initiative hat sich sowohl aus sozioökonomischer Sicht wie auch unter dem Blickwinkel der lokalen Entwicklung bereits als effizient erwiesen: Sie bewirkt die Gründung von Ökolandbaubetrieben und ermöglicht Berufsanfängern den Verbleib in der Region.

Europäische Kommission veröffentlicht Verzeichnis mit potenziell förderfähigen landwirtschaftlichen Tätigkeiten
|
Die Europäische Kommission hat ein Verzeichnis potenzieller landwirtschaftlicher Tätigkeiten, die im Rahmen der ökologischen Programme der zukünftigen Gemeinsamen Agrarpolitik (GAP) gefördert werden könnten, erstellt. Die ökologischen Programme, die aus der GAP Reform hervorgingen, sind ein neues Instrument zur finanziellen Unterstützung von Landwirten, die in Umwelt- und Klimaschutz einen Schritt weiter gehen möchten. Das Verzeichnis soll Landwirtschaft, Verwaltung, Wissenschaft und anderen Interessengruppen als Grundlage für weitere Beratungen über die beste Nutzung des neuen Instruments während der Aufstellung der GAP-Strategiepläne dienen. Europäischer Grüner Deal: EU-Kommission berät über die Zielvorgaben der EU-zur Wiederherstellung der biologischen Vielfalt in Europa
|
Die Europäische Kommission hat eine öffentliche Online-Befragung zur Festlegung rechtsverbindlicher Zielvorgaben bezüglich der Renaturierung auf Ebene der EU auf den Weg gebracht. Die Wiederherstellung der geschädigten Ökosysteme Europas bildet einen wichtigen Bestandteil der Biodiversitätsstrategie der EU für 2030 und des Europäischen Grünen Deals. Sie wird dazu beitragen die biologische Vielfalt zu vergrößern, den Klimaschutz und die Anpassung an den Klimawandel zu verbessern, Naturkatastrophen zu vermeiden und die Folgen eingetretener Naturkatastrophen zu mindern. Die Befragung läuft bis zum 05. April 2021.

Klimagipfel „One Planet Summit“: Kommissionspräsidentin Ursula von der Leyen fordert ehrgeiziges und wegweisendes globales Biodiversitätsabkommen
|
EU-Kommissionspräsidentin Ursula von der Leyen hat auf der Biodiversitäts-Konferenz „One Planet Summit“ eine Rede zu den Themen nachhaltige Landwirtschaft, biologische Vielfalt und Bekämpfung des Klimawandels gehalten. Darin betonte sie die Bedeutung von Umweltschutz und nachhaltiger Landwirtschaft für das Erreichen der Ziele des Europäischen Grünen Deals, mit dessen Hilfe Europa spätestens im Jahr 2050 als weltweit erster Kontinent klimaneutral sein will. In ihrer Rede betonte Frau von der Leyen: „2021 wird das Jahr sein, in dem die Welt ein neues Kapitel für unseren Planeten aufschlägt“. Highlights der Konferenz „Agricultural Outlook“ 2020
|
Die Höhepunkte der EU-Konferenz „Agricultural Outlook“ 2020, die von der EU-Kommission am 16. und 17. Dezember ausgerichtet wurde, stehen ab sofort auf Video zur Verfügung. Darüber hinaus können sämtliche Konferenzbeiträge einschließlich„Erkenntnisse aus der Krise: Schwachstellen und Chancen für die Landwirtschaft in der EU“, „Ein ökologischer Neuaufschwung für die Landwirtschaft in der EU“ , „Landwirte der Zukunft: Ergebnisse der Vorausschau“ und vieles mehr online eingesehen werden.

Ausgabe 2020 der Landwirtschafts-, Forstwirtschafts- und Fischereistatistik
|
Die neue Veröffentlichung von Eurostat enthält aktuelle Daten für Landwirtschaft, Forstwirtschaft und Fischerei in den 27 Mitgliedstaaten der EU und orientiert sich dabei im weiteren Sinne an der Strategie „Vom Hof auf den Tisch“. Im Mittelpunkt stehen Zahlen und Fakten über landwirtschaftliche Betriebe, Landwirte, landwirtschaftliche Erzeugung, Preise für landwirtschaftliche Erzeugnisse, die Wirtschaftsleistung und Ressourcennutzung der Landwirtschaft, Forstwirtschaft und Fischerei, Lebensmittel- und Getränkeindustrie, Vertrieb und Lebensmittelhandel.

„Rural Inspiration Awards“ 2021: Keine Einsendungen mehr möglich
|
Die Einsendefrist für die dritte Ausgabe des ENRD-Wettbewerbs Rural Inspiration Awards ist am 18. Januar 2021 abgelaufen. Es sind 125 Vorschläge aus 22 Mitgliedstaaten eingegangen. Als nächstes wird ein Expertengremium die Vorschläge sichten und jeweils fünf Finalisten für die Endausscheidung in den vier Themenkategorien Grüne Zukunft, Digitale Zukunft, Widerstandsfähige Zukunft und soziale Inklusion der Zukunft auswählen. Sobald die Finalisten online bekannt gegeben worden sind, beginnt die Publikumsabstimmung. Die Sieger werden im Verlauf der „Rural Vision Week“ des ENRD vorgestellt. Umfrage zur gleichstellungsorientierten öffentlichen Auftragsvergabe
|
Die Europäische Vereinigung für Informationen über lokale Entwicklung (European Association for Information on Local Development, Abk. AEIDL) hat eine bis zum 1. Februar 2021 laufende Online-Umfrage zum Thema „Förderung der Geschlechtergleichstellung in der Wirtschaft durch gleichstellungsorientierte öffentliche Auftragsvergabe“ auf den Weg gebracht. Mit Hilfe der Umfrage soll festgestellt werden, welche Verfahren sich auf Ebene der EU, auf Ebene der Mitgliedstaaten und auf regionaler bzw. lokaler Ebene einschlägig bewährt haben. Berücksichtigt werden dabei auch die Ausschreibungsverfahren der Europäischen Struktur- und Investitionsfonds. Die Umfrage ist Teil einer Studie der AEIDL im Auftrag des Europäischen Instituts für Gleichstellungsfragen (EIGE) zum Thema gleichstellungsorientierte öffentliche Auftragsvergabe (GRPP). Dahinter steht die Absicht, durch die Berücksichtigung von Gleichstellungsfragen bei der Vergabe öffentlicher Aufträge die ökonomische Gleichbehandlung zu stärken.

Die wirtschaftlichen Folgen der Bodenversalzung: Grundlagenbericht
|
Die wirtschaftlichen Folgen der Bodenversalzung schlagen allein in Europa mit einer halben Milliarde Euro jährlich zu Buche und werden mit dem Ansteigen des Meeresspiegels weiter zunehmen. Zu dieser Erkenntnis gelangen die Träger des Interreg-Programms Nordseeraum in einem Grundlagenbericht im Rahmen des Projekts SalFar. Gegenstand von SalFar ist die Erforschung von Möglichkeiten der landwirtschaftlichen Erzeugung bei zunehmender Versalzung. Dem Bericht zufolge ist eine stärkere Überwachung des Salzgehalts landwirtschaftlicher Flächen und der damit verbundenen Gefahren dringend notwendig. Traditionen als Chance für die Erneuerung des ländlichen Raums
|
Das Zukunftskonzept des Horizont-2020-Projekts RURITAGE gibt Aufschluss darüber, wie sich COVID-19-bedingte Herausforderungen im ländlichen Raum in Chancen für zukünftiges nachhaltiges Wachstum umwandeln lassen. Als wichtigste Schlussfolgerungen gehen aus dem Konzept Empfehlungen für sechs Schwerpunktgebiete (Natur, Kultur, Soziales, Bevölkerung, Bauwerke, Finanzen) hervor. Darüber hinaus werden die übergeordneten Handlungsfelder bestimmt und Empfehlungen für die EU sowie für die einzelstaatlichen, regionalen und lokalen Entscheidungsebenen ausgesprochen.

Botschafter des Klimapakts der EU
|
Die Europäische Kommission hat den Europäischen Klimapakt ins Leben gerufen, in dessen Rahmen sich Staat, Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft an Maßnahmen zum Klima- und Umweltschutz in Europa beteiligen sollen. Als Baustein des Europäischen Grünen Deals bietet der Europäische Klimapakt jedem die Möglichkeit, sich in Wort und Tat klimapolitisch zu engagieren und sich einer stetig wachsenden europäischen Klimaschutzbewegung anzuschließen. Jede Bürgerin und jeder Bürger kann ebenso wie jede beliebige Organisation ein Klimapaktbotschafter werden, der mit gutem Beispiel vorangeht und sein Umfeld zum Klimaschutz anhält.

Das Stadt-Land-Gefälle bei EU-feindlichem Wahlverhalten
|
In den vergangenen Jahren hat sich die Zahl der Protestwähler, der Wählerstimmen für populistische Parteien und – insbesondere auf europäischer Ebene – der Wählerstimmen für Parteien, die sich gegen die europäische Integration positionieren, deutlich erhöht. Im Blickpunkt der Forschung standen zumeist die Merkmale der Wähler an sich. Im Gegensatz dazu konzentriert sich eine von der Generaldirektion Regionalpolitik und Stadtentwicklung (GD Regio) veröffentlichte neue Untersuchung auf das Stadt-Land-Gefälle. In dem Dokument wird zu erläutern versucht, warum europaskeptische Parteien in den europäischen Großstädten – und in den städtischen Gebieten Europas allgemein – zumeist weniger Wählerstimmen erhalten als auf dem Land.

Das Büro der ENRD-Kontaktstelle in Brüssel bleibt wegen der COVID-19-Pandemie bis auf weiteres geschlossen, doch die Arbeit ruht nicht – sie geht umständehalber unter Anwendung digitaler Konzepte weiter. 2. Treffen der ENRD-Themengruppe „Der Europäische Grüne Deal und der ländliche Raum“
|
Gegenstand des Treffens waren effektive Ansätze zur Förderung der Umstellung von Land- und Forstwirtschaft auf uneingeschränkt nachhaltige Arbeitsmethoden sowie die Frage, wie die zukünftige GAP am besten zu deren flächendeckender Anwendung beitragen könnte.

LEADER, Widerstandsfähigkeit und Nachhaltigkeit
|
Im Mittelpunkt des 6. LEADER-Themenlabors des ENRD stand die Frage, wie LEADER und die LAG zur Stärkung der Widerstandsfähigkeit und Nachhaltigkeit örtlicher Gemeinschaften beitragen können. Beraten wurde über die Konzeption von LEADER im Rahmen der zukünftigen GAP-Strategien sowie über die Vorgehensweise in der Zeit des Übergangs auf die neue GAP.
