The European Employment and Social Rights Forum (EESRF) took place on 16-17 November 2022 and was focused on how to achieve a fair and inclusive green transition for all. It also celebrated the 5th Anniversary of the EU pillar of social rights. The most pessimistic town in Finland

This fifth and last award takes us to Finland, and in particular to the most pessimistic town of the country, even after the project was declared the popular vote winner. The project developed a new type of territorial marketing based on pessimism, a landmark feature of the Puolanka village. By turning pessimism into a positive brand, the project used wicked humour for territorial marketing purposes. Local youth were actively involved in association activities and producing social media content.

 
Optimising land use planning (study)

The Commission will carry out in 2023 a study on competition for land use and sustainable farming and provide a sound and comprehensive analysis of the main impacts of sectoral developments on land use in the EU’s rural areas.

 
Boost of EU agri-food trade in September 2022

The latest monthly agri-food trade report shows developments in imports and exports of EU agri-food products in September 2022, and features a special focus on agri-food trade with the US.

 
Medium-term outlook report highlights
