Unmet needs for medical care in rural areas

Unmet needs for medical care can be due to several reasons including financial  (too expensive), distance/transport (too far/difficult to travel) or timeliness ones (waiting lists).

 
New Policy Insights on agroforestry, gender equality and younger generations

The EU CAP Network has released the three latest issues of their Policy Insight series featuring opportunities for support offered through the Common Agricultural Policy. These opportunities include the benefits of agroforestry, how to enhance the visibility of women’s success stories in agri-food value chains and rural development and how to help younger generations find employment in rural areas.

 
Startup Village Forum 2023

The European Commission is organising the Startup Village Forum (SVF) 2023. The SVF – which is part of the Long-term vision for the EU’s rural areas - intends to promote knowledge exchange and cooperation activities and to work as an open space where institutions and stakeholders can meet, discuss and shape action for startup-driven innovation in rural areas.

 
Call for best practices

Some stakeholders and national authorities in the community are exploring ways to setup a pre-financing system to improve access to EU funds of beneficiaries, such as small rural municipalities, who cannot access these funds because they cannot advance payments. Privacy statement

“Women move Europe’s mountains”

This year’s theme for International Mountain Day was “Women move mountains”. To celebrate this day, Euromontana and the MOVING Horizon 2020 project published a booklet titled “Women move Europe’s mountains”, compiling testimonies from women either living in EU's mountain areas or working to make them more sustainable and future oriented.
