ELISE webinar: Location Intelligence Technology trends and case studies in digital government

On 17 September 2020, 14:00 CEST, the ELISE Action of the ISA² Programme is organising a webinar ''Location Intelligence Technology trends and case studies in digital government''.

Location Intelligence is the process of deriving meaningful insight from geospatial data relationships — people, places or things — to solve particular challenges such as demographic or environmental analysis, asset tracking, and traffic planning. While the technology trends shaping Location Intelligence are maturing, innovation through Location Intelligence in Digital Government faces challenges but also reaps success.

In this webinar, the expert in Data-Driven Government Clémentine Valayer from Gartner Consulting and special guests Jarmo Suomisto from the City of Helsinki and Ricardo Vitorino from Ubiwhere speaking about the City of Guimarães share insight on:

  • Key concepts and definitions relating to Location Intelligence, GeoAI, Digital Twins of Government
  • Trends in digital government technology that shape Location Intelligence, with a view on their transformational potential and their maturity timeline
  • A series of case studies developing an analysis of the “intelligence” factor driving each innovation, and the variety and origin of data sources needed to feed this intelligence. Each case study provides insight in the projects’ key success factors and challenges. There are two cases presented:
    • The Digital Twin of Government City Models from Helsinki in Finland
    • The urban platform of the city of Guimarães in Portugal

This webinar is part of a series of Webinars performed by the European Commission's Joint Research Centre under the ELISE ISA² Action. The aim of these studies is to quickly engage with new topics of relevance to location interoperability, the digital transformation of government and socio-technical developments in this arena.
