The third webinar of the FOLOU project titled ‘Tackling the Challenge of Quantifying Food Losses Across All Fronts – Local, Regional and National Perspectives’ and will be held on the 23 of May 2024 from 11:00 to 13:00 (GMT +2).

Building on insights from meeting 1 and refining measurement methods for crop fields, aquaculture, and livestock farms, the next phase involves extending discussions to a broader territorial context.

Key questions include identifying economic activities for measurement and determining how to estimate and extrapolate results from specific sectors to cover the entire territory. Addressing these challenges is crucial, forming the foundation for reliable food loss diagnoses—a vital tool for political decision-making.

In this third meeting, we’ll present a methodological proposal from FOLOU, building on prior agreements. The proposal aims to quantify losses at different territorial scales (local, regional, and national) within the European Union.
