Glossary:Shrubland

Shrubland is areas dominated (more than 10 % of the surface) by shrubs and low woody plants capable of reaching heights of up to 5 metres; may include sparsely occurring trees within a maximum limit of 10 % canopy. In central Europe, only heathlands and some rural communities fall into this category.
