The European Federation of Ethical and Alternative Banks (FEBEA) and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) are organising the ‘Active Europe’ project launching conference, taking place in Brussels in the premises of the EESC on Monday 29 November 2010.

This conference will give the floor to major social and economic players from social economy, ethical finance, European institutions and networks. The aim of FEBEA is to highlight the crucial impact of existing social inclusive initiatives on employment and economic activities in the European Union countries, and to show that one of the levers for ‘reactivating’ the EU single market could consist in implementing a favourable framework for the spreading and financing of such initiatives.

On this occasion, FEBEA will present the brand-new publication “Atlas of job creation good practices for social inclusion. Ethical finance for an active, creative and solidarity-based Europe” and there will be a place for debating about the means to make the legal framework evolve and foster the national and European institutions to launch a working program dedicated to the implementation of a favourable framework for the financing and development of job creation for social inclusion.

The President of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy will express his support through a video-message.
All participants will be invited to sign the Call for an ‘Active Europe’.
