WiFi4EU

The WiFi4EU initiative aims to provide high-quality Internet access across the EU to citizens and visitors via free of charge Wi-Fi hotspots in public spaces such as parks, squares, administrations, libraries, and health centres. An indicative amount of €120 million will provide financial assistance to municipalities across the EU to promote internet connectivity. The calls are open to public sector bodies from all EU Member States and participating EEA countries (Norway and Iceland). The selected municipalities receive a voucher of €15,000 to be used to install a functioning Wi-Fi hotspot within 1.5 years after being awarded the voucher.
