Directive 2014/55/EU made it mandatory for all European public entities to be able to receive eInvoices that comply with the EU standard  (EN 16931). This is a business opportunity for IT solution providers wanting to help public administrations meet their obligations.  

How electronic invoicing should be implemented depends on how your Member State has transposed the EU Directive into national law. The deadline for implementing the standard was 18 April 2019, but some exceptions exist. It’s good to be aware of the key dates and events that may apply to your clients.
