The European Commission has officially released DomiSMP 5.1, offering enhanced features for organisations using the eDelivery infrastructure.

This version introduces improved document management with templates, document referencing, automatic user creation, password reset options and a DNS lookup tool for validating participant identifiers. For a full list of features and improvements, visit the DomiSMP 5.1 release page.

DomiSMP 5.1 is based on Java 11 and supports WebLogic 12.2c & 14.1c and Apache Tomcat 9. Users should prepare for a significant platform change in the upcoming version, as support for older Java versions will be discontinued and the base supported Java version will be 21.

The final release arrives one month after the Release Candidate.

With DomiSMP 5.1, documentation is now available in a new format through a dedicated portal, mirroring the approach adopted earlier this year for Domibus. This update makes accessing guides and resources more straightforward.

eDelivery Building Block

eDelivery is a Building Block provided by the European Commission, offering technical specifications, installable software and services for secure digital data exchange across a network of nodes.

DomiSMP is the sample software provided by the European Commission to implement an eDelivery Service Metadata Publisher for publishing and retrieving data necessary for an eDelivery party to dynamically configure its system for message exchange with other parties using eDelivery. It is based on the eDelivery SMP 1.10 profile, an open technical specification for publishing service metadata within a 4-corner network. There are numerous other products and services currently conformant with the SMP 1.10 profile. We invite projects to browse the full list before choosing their SMP software.
