EU support for settlement in Cyprus backed with fresh money
The European Commission has proposed to include in the 2011 EU draft budget €25 million of funding for the Turkish Cypriot community. "The activities planned with this fresh funding are reunification driven. They underline the EU commitment to a Cyprus settlement. The new funds are a strong signal that the EU expects continuation of the talks towards reunification of the island." stated Commissioner Füle on 27 April 2010.
