Three new chapters closed in accession negotiations with Croatia

Croatia has succeeded in provisionally closing a further three chapters in the country's negotiations with the EU. At the meeting of the Accession Conference on 22 December, the European Union and Croatia have moved on to a provisional agreement on Chapters 'Justice, freedom and security', 'Environment' and 'Foreign, security, defence policy'. Since the start of the negotiations in 2005, thirty-three chapters have been opened, of which 28 have been provisionally closed.
