Research policies: ERAWATCH

ERAWATCH is an online information system on national and regional research policies, developed by the Commission.

It has been designed to provide a strategic intelligence service to support evidence-based policy-making in the research field . It will be operational in May 2006.

• It is primarily intended for research policy-makers, although public access will be provided on the web.

• It will collect data, offer reports and analyses on research systems, organizations, policies and trends, as well as on the factors influencing them.

• It will thus provide a greater knowledge and understanding of national and regional research systems in the European Research Area.
