It also explains the key drivers behind each practice and which organisations were involved in its implementation.

Discover responses to the COVID-19 crisis, such as a measure to support self-employment for those changing their economic activity (implemented by the Lithuanian PES) and services and courses addressing mental health provided freely to Croatian PES staff.

On the subject of skills and training in a broad sense, find out how the Polish National Training Fund is co-financing a lifelong learning initiative for employers and employees to support adaptation to a changing economy and the French PES, Pôle emploi, has launched a skills investment plan aiming at upskilling jobseekers with a focus on young jobseekers and the least qualified.

The growing relevance of digital skills specifically is captured by two practices: the free digital training for unemployed and employed persons, provided by the Spanish PES, and the Luxembourgish package of services enabling employers to close the gap between existing and required digital skills.

Two additional practices focusing on labour market facilitation come from the Swedish PES. The first overviews an innovative new digital service to enable short video interviews with jobseekers. The other explores the simplification of tax compliance for gig workers and employers, as well as the improvement of working conditions and digital infrastructures in the sector.
