Commissioner Schmit visits ESF-funded projects in Romania supporting refugees from Ukraine
European Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights, Nicolas Schmit has visited a Concordia Vocational School, co-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF). A humanitarian non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Concordia has 30 years of history supporting children, young people and families in need to move toward a more independent life, and is currently supporting refugees fleeing from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Ukraine: making it easier and quicker for Member States to use cohesion funding to support immediate needs of refugees
To further support Member States welcoming and accommodating refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine, the Commission has proposed a simplified financing procedure under 2014-2020 cohesion policy to tackle the additional costs involved.

EU Skills Profile Tool in Ukrainian: helping the integration into the labour market of people arriving from Ukraine
The European Commission has launched a Ukrainian version of the EU Skills Profile Tool for Third Country Nationals. The Tool will make it easier for people fleeing Russian’s invasion of Ukraine to map their skills and find jobs and other opportunities.

Erasmus+ : 13 new projects selected for funding to develop excellence in vocational education
The 2021 call for proposals for ‘Centres of Vocational Excellence’, under the Erasmus+ programme, has led to the selection of 13 new cross-border collaboration projects to develop excellence in vocational education and training in Europe.
