Equality: 10th anniversary of the entry into force of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in the EU
Ten years ago, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) entered into force in the EU. The Convention was a breakthrough for the rights of persons with disabilities and it is the first human rights convention ratified by the EU.

Eurochild report investigates impacts of COVID-19 on children
Eurochild has published a report that reviews effects of the COVID-19 outbreak on children in 25 European countries (including 23 European Union Member States). The findings suggest that the pandemic had negative effects on children’s mental health and exacerbated societal inequality.

Social partners in hairdressing sector continue to cooperate to improve health and safety situation at work
In their last Joint Statement the social partners in the hairdressing sector welcome the cooperation between the European Commission, the European Agency for Occupational Health and Safety at work (EU OSHA) and the social partners regarding the autonomous implementation of their European Framework Agreement on health and safety signed in 2016.

SELFIE for work-based learning (WBL): End of successful pilot phase and preparations for full roll-out
SELFIE is a self-reflection tool for schools, including at upper secondary vocational education and training (VET) level, to assess their digital readiness. It is free of charge and participation is on a voluntary basis. In autumn 2020, nine countries conducted successful pilots for extending SELFIE to WBL, including related to apprenticeships, involving a large number of stakeholders.
