Beating cancer: Better protection of workers against cancer-causing chemicals
Each year, about 120,000 work-related cancer cases occur as a result of exposure to carcinogens at work in the EU, leading to approximately 80,000 fatalities annually. To improve workers' protection against cancer, the Commission has proposed today to further limit their exposure to cancer-causing chemicals.

Commission proposes €2 million to help 500 workers made redundant in shipbuilding and ancillary sectors in Galicia, Spain
Around 500 redundant workers are expected to participate in the support measures co-financed by the EGF. The package aims to provide them with career guidance, support in their job search, opportunities to learn new skills by means of vocational training, and tutoring and guidance after finding another job.

ESPN synthesis report: Access to essential services for people on low incomes in Europe
The synthesis report from the European Social Policy Network (ESPN) analyses the measures, policy frameworks and reforms that countries have put in place to help people on low incomes to access essential services. It covers the 27 EU Member States and 8 other European countries, and will inform the EU action plan to implement the principles of the European Pillar of Social Rights.

Cohesion policy invested EUR 23 Billion during the first semester of 2020
The Commission has released financial data on cohesion policy implementation in the first half of 2020 on the ESIF Open Data Platform. More than EUR 23 billion was invested across the Union under the 4 cohesion policy funds.
