The European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing is looking for new partners
The European Commission has opened the Invitation for Commitment to the Action Plans of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing. It is done in order to further strengthen and extend the critical mass working to transform the delivery of care to ageing citizens, building upon the initial progress and momentum generated by the Partnership.

Finnish grandma Eila Nevanranta launches her debut rap album at age 76
Eila Nevanranta is an ordinary 76-year-old Finnish grandmother who one summer evening a couple of years ago decided to write a rap song. Now she is one of the stars of independent music label Stupido and her videos are a worldwide online hit.

Estonian 83-year old surgeon Bruno Põder receives the European Year 2012 Life Story Challenge Award
Estonian 83-year old doctor Bruno Põder received on November 13th the European Year 2012 Award in the category of “Life story challenge”. The recognition to his lifetime achievements was handed to the retired surgeon and his daughter, who submitted his candidacy to the competition, by László Andor, European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, at a ceremony which took place in Brussels.

Successful closing conference of the European Year in France brings together nearly 200 people
The closing conference of the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations in France that took place on 17-18 December at the Palais des Congrès in Paris was a great success. The event brought together nearly 200 people during a day and a half.
