The latest PES Network Board meeting was a chance to celebrate a new network strategy and a re-elected Chair.

The 15th PES Network Board meeting took place online 24-25 June, focused on supporting the recovery of European labour markets, in line with the Portuguese presidency’s slogan: “Time to deliver: a fair, green and digital recovery”. It included a related presentation from the Portuguese Presidency and a marketplace on recent PES recovery measures.

Two key moments of the meeting were the endorsement of the new PES Network strategy and the re-election as Network Chair for another two year mandate of Johannes Kopf, Head of the Austrian PES. Both decisions will help guide and drive the Network’s efforts to support the quality and modernisation of PES in the coming years.

The meeting also benefitted from an exchange with BusinessEurope, ETUC, SGI Europe and SMEUnited to discuss recovery measures and the effects of the green transition. Board members highlighted the high value added of cooperation between PES and Social Partners and agreed to further foster such exchanges.

The next Board meeting is planned in December under the Slovenian Presidency which started on 1 July 2021.
