Knowledge management: an opportunity for mutual learning

Knowledge management is a key issue in ensuring success in performance, change and innovation, and was pinpointed in the qualitative benchlearning results as an area with huge potential for mutual learning, as there are wide differences in how various PES manage knowledge. To remain at the forefront, it is important for PES to fully understand the opportunities brought by knowledge management.

The topic of knowledge management is vast, as it can include the process of building up and implementing integrated knowledge management, managing external knowledge or using PES Network knowledge on the national level. This webinar aimed to kick-start the discussion on this topic and stimulate collaboration among PES, as well as presenting some useful examples from two PES that are already implementing interesting practices.

The webinar was moderated by Ágota Scharle from the Budapest Institute, who started the event with a brief presentation on some key theoretical aspects of knowledge management and a brief introduction to PES’ main challenges and motivations to act. The next speaker, Marie-Thérèse Fombona from Le Forem (BE) then gave an insightful presentation on how the resources of the PES Knowledge Centre, and good examples from PES throughout Europe, are used at Le Forem. This was followed by Cecilie Mortensen and Simon Lamech from STAR (DK), who gave a presentation on how to systematically collect, innovate and disseminate evidence-based knowledge

A discussion on a collaborative platform will feed into the webinar and give participants the chance to share thoughts. In case you missed the webinar or simply want to learn more, a link will also be shared online, allowing you to watch the webinar.
