MoveS seminar (Estonia): New types of work and their relation to social security and social security coordination

The EC-funded MoveS network (Free Movement and Social Security Coordination) organised a seminar in Tallinn (Estonia) on 10 October 2019.

The seminar was organised by MoveS in collaboration with its Estonian national expert, Ave Henberg. MoveS is an EC-funded network of independent experts from 32 European countries coordinated by Eftheia and Deloitte.

New types of work are a very hot topic in Estonia. The Ministry of Social Affairs is currently analysing how the Employment Contracts Act and other laws should be amended to respond to the needs of a modern society and industry while, at the same time, offering adequate protection to workers. In this context, it is very important to analyse the social security coordination rules: how they affect persons, who will in future exercise their EU basic freedoms. Core points of the new posting rules and how they affect Estonian employers and employees have been addressed.
