The EC-funded MoveS network (Free Movement and Social Security Coordination) organised a lunchtime webinar on 14 October at 11:00 CEST.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a significant increase in the number of people working from home. This also concerned cross-border teleworking situations, in which the individual was working in another Member State than where her/his employer was established. As both employees and employers have discovered the benefits of telework, these situations will continue to exist in the future. During the pandemic, measures were taken to avoid the impact of teleworking on the social security situation of employees and self-employed persons. As the normal rules will apply again as of 1 January 2023, it is important to know which labour and social security law will be applicable in teleworking situations and whether any changes to the rules should be expected.

The purpose of this MoveS webinar was to analyze the labour and social security law aspects of teleworking, by examining the current legislative and jurisprudential framework, see how it is applied to cross-border teleworking and whether the existing rules should be revisited.

Viewers had the opportunity to ask questions and share their views in dedicated Q&A sessions.
