Social security coordination and free movement in the EEA: Pension rights, maternity/paternity payments

The EC-funded MoveS network (Free Movement and Social Security Coordination) organised a seminar in Reykjavík (Iceland) on 23 September 2022.

The seminar was organised by MoveS in collaboration with its Icelandic national experts Anna Margrét Ólafsdóttir and Bjarnveig Eiríksdóttir. MoveS is an EC-funded network of independent experts from 32 European countries coordinated by Eftheia and Deloitte.

The seminar focused on the following topics: Social security coordination in the fields of pensions and maternity/paternity benefits. (a) Access to social security, the Icelandic pension system and social security coordination. (b) Free movement of workers and social security coordination issues  (maternity/paternity payments and Reg. No 883/2004) raised in a new case in the EFTA Court E-5/21 Anna B. Einarsdóttir v the Treasury.
