PES Network Mutual Learning Webinar on New forms of support to employers

This webinar provided nearly 300 participants with the opportunity to learn more about the latest delivery models and tools used by Public Employment Service (PES) for supporting employers.

Webinar participants heard the following three presentations of national PES practice:

  • The Austrian PES (AMS) presented ‘AMS - Boxenstopp’ (‘AMS - Pit Stop’)  - an initiative using telephone conferences and virtual meetings to hold structured exchanges with employers;
  • The Slovenian PES (ESS) presented their ‘One-stop-Shop’ for Employers – a strong network of local offices offering free-of-charge services to employers; and
  • The Swedish PES (Arbetsförmedlingen) presented their online ‘speed interviews’ which give employers the opportunity to conduct short, structured job interviews via live video with 5 to 7 candidates during the course of one hour.

Following a live Q&A with the presenters, Maxime Cerutti from Business Europe (The Confederation of European Business) provided the employer perspective, highlighting current labour and skills shortages in Europe and the importance of needs-based services to employers.

It was confirmed to participants that the PES Network will continue to support exchange and learning between Europe’s PES and other labour market actors on this topic.
