MoveS lunchtime webinar - Posting of workers: latest developments and prospects in social security and labour law

The EC-funded MoveS network (Free Movement and Social Security Coordination) organised a lunchtime webinar on 18 March at 11:00 CEST.

Posted workers are those employees who are sent by their employer to work in another EU Member State on a temporary basis. EU legislation on the posting of workers aims at ensuring the social protection of these workers during their posting, mainly with regard to social security coverage and terms and conditions of employment. The legislation on posted workers has undergone substantial reform in recent years, case law has evolved and developments in ways of working during the recent pandemic have shed new light on certain posting rules.

The purpose of the MoveS webinar was to elucidate the current legislative and jurisprudential state-of-play and projections as well as the Covid-19 related developments surrounding posted workers in Regulations 883/2004 and 987/2009 regarding the coordination of social security systems, as well as in the revised Posted Workers Directive 96/71.

Viewers had the opportunity to ask questions and share their views in a dedicated Q&A session.

When: Friday, 18 March 2022, 11:00 – 13:30 CET (incl. 15 min break and 30 min Q&A session)
Where: online
Speakers: Sophie Robin- Olivier, Dolores Carrascosa Bermejo, Herwig Verschueren
