PES Network seminar on future skills, career guidance and lifelong learning

This PES Network seminar brought together representatives of 27 Public Employment Services (PES) to discuss approaches to developing future skills on the European labour market.

Specifically, participants heard presentations and discussed around the following:

PES approaches to analysing and developing future skills

  • The French PES Pôle emploi’s role in future skills investment;

New developments in skills intelligence

  • Skills intelligence for PES by the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP);
  • How to use data and AI to determine skill trends? by the Belgian PES VDAB;

Skills needs in a changing environment and collaboration with external actors

  • Assessing skill requirements and skill gaps for more relevant training and job opportunities by the OECD;
  • Collaboration of the Dutch PES with research institutions in determining current and future skills needs.
