The European Union is offering this webinar to representatives from microfinance institutions (MFI), exploring the various dimensions of business continuity planning and management: How to set up a successful Business Continuity Plan, how to manage risks, monitor and report.

This session is part one of the webinar series “Business Continuity Planning”, which is organised in three webinars. The sessions are organised in collaboration with the Albanian Microfinance Association as a local partner and are specifically aimed at microfinance institutions operating in Albania.

The first webinar will introduce the main concepts and framework of a successful Business Continuity Management (BCM). It will also discuss risk assessment, measurement and control, as well as solutions for monitoring and reporting.

The following subtopics will be explored in more detail:

• Business Continuity Management (BCM): concepts, framework and objectives
• Setting up a BCM framework: policy and procedures
• Risk assessment, measurement and control:  identification of critical areas, evaluation of general threats, risk mitigation and prevention, monitoring and reporting
• Business impact analysis for financial, operational, safety, and regulatory factors
• Implementation of business impact analysis and reporting

The second session in the series will focus on building a governance framework for the management of the business continuity plan and recovery strategies.

The third session will advise financial institutions on raising awareness for business continuity management among staff, and developing a strategy and a programme for crisis management team trainings.

The webinar series is funded by the EU programme for Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI) and participation is free of charge.
