The European Union is offering an online session particularly tailored for Romanian microfinance institutions (MFI) interested in sharing best practice in the area of social and economic inclusion, in particular with regards to financing and revenue-generating activities. The event will take the format of a webinar and will take place on 6 November.

The main objectives of this webinar are to:

• Provide a broader perspective on European programmes for the development of the microfinance sector in the next programming period 2020-2027;
• Provide up-to-date information on advocacy and promotion campaigns planned by the European microfinance networks the EMN and the MFC, on EU-funded technical assistance programmes, financial programmes and resources available to support the sustainable development of national microfinance sectors;
• Discuss sustainable development and improvement of the financial and social performance of the Romanian Credit Unions (CUs) that have completed the certification process with the European Code of Good Conduct for Microcredit Provision.

This webinar is part of the events organised for the European Microfinance Day 2020 "Weathering the Storm”. The session will offer multiple presentations of case studies and examples of modern principles of governance and risk management, new financial products designed to finance development, green economy and investment needs, MIS development for reporting indicators specific to microfinance activity and digitalisation, as well as challenges during the COVID-19 Pandemic. In addition, guest speakers will offer an overview of the implementation stage of technical assistance and the financial component of the EaSI programme and its extension.
