The European Union is offering a study visit under the EaSI Technical Assistance programme offered to European microfinance institutions, to visit ADIE, a microcredit provider operating in France.

This study visit is organised as a follow-up to multiple requests after the 2019 EMN Annual Conference, coming from European microfinance institutions that are interested in learning more about ADIE’s relationship management strategies.

ADIE is a well-known French not-for-profit organisation - the first micro-credit institution in France and one of the oldest in Europe. ADIE uses microfinance to provide wide access to credit, more precisely to people and communities who are financially excluded and under-privileged.

The primary objective of this study visit is to promote best practices with respect to the relationship between banks and microfinance institutions, network development and communication, as well as business development services (e.g. training, mentoring, coaching).

Approximately 10-15 participants from microfinance institutions in Europe will take part.

  • On the first day, they will be introduced to ADIE’s model and network development, as well as management of its branches. In addition, the participants will learn about ADIE’s financial partnership model with banks, and about ways to enhance their own operational partnerships.
  • The second day will offer an opportunity for a field visit to meet local staff and volunteers in charge of loan appraisal and business development services delivery.
European microfinance institutions who are already selected as EaSI Technical Assistance beneficiaries can contact easi.ta@fs.de to receive more information about the event programme and registration.
