The thematic seminar will explore how measures for the Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived (FEAD) were adapted to address the needs of new beneficiaries and how new practices were implemented in response to the Covid-19 crisis. The seminar will provide an opportunity to identify and discuss innovative, promising or good practices from the host country (France), as well as from other Member States, and also to look ahead towards the new programming period and European Social Fund Plus (ESF+).

The thematic seminar will balance panel discussions with interactive workshops, providing opportunities for maximising communication between participants. It will focus on:

  • how FEAD was adapted to support new beneficiaries and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic
  • measures in place to identify and support new beneficiaries of FEAD-funded measures
  • new practices related to FEAD, inspired by solutions in response to the COVID-19 pandemic

Participants

The seminar will gather participants representing local, regional and national stakeholders involved in the implementation of FEAD, including: managing authorities, intermediate bodies, beneficiaries providing support and their partners (e.g. municipalities), independent experts, civil society organisations and representatives from the European Commission.
