PES Network calls for improved statutory frameworks around platform work

Short-time work schemes: a key response to Covid-19
“Nearly all countries have adapted, revamped, activated or introduced short-time work schemes… to prevent unemployment” in the face of Covid-19. Meanwhile, PES will need to continue responding to internal and labour market changes provoked by the crisis.

PES are key for supporting changing labour markets
Two PES Network online events on 24 June highlighted the important role of PES in effectively addressing structural changes in the labour market. In particular, they can add value through measures aimed at: identifying upcoming changes; meeting new skills requirements; and mitigating the impact of mass redundancies.
