Its members are appointed by common agreement of the European Parliament, the Council and the Commission.

OLAF and the Committee continued in 2022 to build up cooperation in pursuit of their shared objectives in line with the working arrangements concluded between OLAF and the Supervisory Committee on 21 October 2021.

OLAF’s Director-General kept the Supervisory Committee regularly informed about the activities of the Office, the implementation of OLAF’s investigative function and the follow-up to investigations. In 2022, the Committee received 751 documents with information on investigations lasting more than 12 months.

In 2022, the Supervisory Committee delivered to the EU institutions the Opinion No 1/2022 on OLAF's preliminary draft budget for 2023.

In its opinions, the Supervisory Committee issues recommendations to the Director-General, and OLAF reports annually on the state of implementation of these recommendations. The report on the implementation of the Committee’s recommendations for 2022 as well as other related information are publicly available on the OLAF website .
