There is an ongoing pilot of SELFIE in Ukraine initiated and funded by the European Training Foundation in which 90 schools participated. For the first time the SELFIE pilot included follow up actions to help schools to develop their digital action plan. These actions involve:

• A data interpretation masterclass in collaboration with the Institute of Education Analytics in Ukraine. In this masterclass schools were given ideas on how to read and interpret their reports.
• A hackathon where schools with the same development priorities are grouped together to brainstorm about actions and measures that they would need to take in order to reach these objectives.

In the hackathon, each school participated through one computer whereas members of the school community (school leaders, teachers and students) were in the same physical space. The feedback from the organizers was that at this stage not all students participated very actively, but their presence was important because it affected the way the teachers and the school leaders spoke.

The event lasted 4 hours, and the action plans the schools were creating were accessible at the same time for other schools to see. 

The aim of the SELFIE team is to produce a set of guidelines on how to structure activities that can support the creation of a digital action plan. Specifically we are planning to create 3 design documents which will focus on:

• How to organize a data interpretation masterclass.
• How to organize a discussion with your school on SELFIE results.
• How to organize a hackathon.
