Skillman.eu was launched in 2014 and received the European Commission support in 2015 in the field of education and training. In its specific field of intervention it is currently became the largest EU multilateral network combining a solid knowledge of skills needs and training practices with a well organised systemic and sector-related information system.

The webinar SELFIE: supporting schools for learning in the digital age held on April 7, 2021. Its main objective was to present SELFIE, as well as to listen the experiences of those who have used the tool, and how it has helped them in revising their strategic and practice approach to digitalisation.

Our colleague Nikoleta Giannoutsou took part as a speaker presenting "Use of digital technology in teaching and learning". Her intervention began with a summary explanation of what SELFIE is, a tool for school’s critical reflection. She announced the milestone recently reached: 1 million users of the tool. She also stressed the differences between the rates of participation during and after the pandemic, highlighting that the importance of using this tool has been demonstrated.

We did SELFIE, and now, what?

Nikoleta also talked about how schools can set priorities regarding their results in the self-reflection exercise, explaining that SELFIE combines three different perspectives: school perspective, country perspective, and an international perspective. She also talked about two types of interventions to set priorities: a thematic intervention and a structural/procedural intervention. She highlighted the fact that SELFIE involves the whole school community, and that the point is involving everyone in the design of the digital action plan.

She finally talked about SELFIE latest developments and future plans.
