The thirteenth annual Interreg Cooperation Day events highlighted results from cross-border cooperation projects in the Geopark Karawanken-Karavanke area. These events are designed for the general public to underscore the importance of European regions and countries working together through programs such as Interreg. This year's event was held in Austrian Carinthia, under the Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development, in collaboration with projects such as Drau-Drava Run, Nakult, and Nature Game. These projects showcase effective cross-border cooperation in the areas of natural and cultural heritage, as well as sustainable development.

Over 200 participants travelled to Dravograd to visit the Drau-Drava Run project and to take part in a half marathon from Dravograd to Lavamünd. Later, the group visited Bukovje Manor, where project representatives introduced them to the Nakult project. The participants then crossed the border and took a cable car to Peca, where they took part in activities presenting the NatureGame project and the geology of the area. The Geo DOM Visitor Centre highlights the benefits of cross-border cooperation in preserving the region's natural and cultural heritage. The event highlighted the importance of cross-border initiatives in promoting cooperation, economic growth, tourism and heritage conservation. It was organised with the aim of raising public awareness of cooperation opportunities and project results. The Interreg Cooperation Day highlights the benefits of working together and demonstrates that diversity fosters innovation and connections, thereby promoting regional development and shared prosperity.
