Evaluation of the Public Procurement Directives: Have your say!

The Commission has published a call for evidence and a public consultation on the Public Procurement Directives. The Commission invites interested parties to express their views on whether the directives have effectively achieved their objectives, among them fostering a high level of competition in the single market, increasing SMEs’ participation in procurement procedures, ensuring transparency and promoting a greener, more social and innovative EU economy. The contributions will feed into the Commission’s evaluation of the Public Procurement Directives. The call for evidence and public consultation will be open until 7 March. Share your insights and help shape the future of EU public procurement!

Training on state aid in Cohesion policy programmes and projects (23-26 June 2025)

The training is targeted at practitioners from ERDF, CF and ESF (Managing Authorities, Intermediate Bodies and Audit Authorities) who possess general knowledge of State Aid principles and would like to learn more about the latest state aid provisions in Cohesion policy programmes and projects. Registrations will open in April 2025.

 
Training on Strategic Public Procurement (19-20 May 2025 in Brussels)

The training provides practical insight into Green, Social and Innovative Public Procurement, as well as into the latest developments in the PP legislative framework (such as international issues, crisis management). Participants: practitioners in Programme Authorities: managing authorities/ intermediate bodies/ audit authorities in the EU Member States. Free of charge, online, in English. Training on Integrity Pacts (11-13 June 2025)

DG REGIO is organising sessions of the training module on Integrity Pacts in 2024. The training aims to support the EU Member States in implementing Integrity Pacts (IP) in public procurement projects financed by EU cohesion funds. NEW: Given the wide interest in Integrity Pacts, the training module has been divided into 2 complementary sessions: - an Introductory session (1 half-day) will cover the overall concept of the IP, the rationale for deciding to implement one, the selection of projects and of monitors. It is open to all interested applicants from EU Member States, and is a pre-requisite for the advanced session. - an Advanced session (3 half-days) tailored for those who will be implementing an integrity Pact, providing hands-on support to the setting-up, implementation and process of an IP in practice (3 half- days). The introduction session was held on 24 March. Registration is open for the advanced session on 11-13 June 2025 (https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/TrainingIP-June2025-Registration).

President von der Leyen on the announcement of universal tariffs by the US

In her recent statement, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen criticised President Trump's announcement of universal tariffs, including those affecting the EU, highlighting the potential severe repercussions for the global economy. She emphasised that such measures could lead to increased uncertainties and significant economic challenges worldwide.

 
Call for proposals - Setting up an Integrity Pacts Helpdesk

Following the successful conclusion of the Integrity Pacts Pilot Project, 15 Member States have committed to implement and/or encourage the uptake of Integrity Pacts in more of their projects. The Commission wants to support them in this effort by launching this call for proposals to Civil Society Organisations (CSO) to set up up an "IP Helpdesk". Individual CSOs or consortia led by a CSO are invited to submit their proposals before 02/04/2024 – at 18:00.

Citizens participation in EU cohesion policy

The proposal from Normandie was selected. Participation of citizens will be tested in the context of decisions on cultural spaces. Nine more pilot projects are at different stage of implementation. It is still possible for public authorities and civil society organisation to receive support by experts from OECD.

New Study on EU Cohesion Policy Management Unveiled: Webinar Scheduled for Further Insights

The European Commission has just published a study titled "Organisational Models of Programme Authorities Managing EU Cohesion Policy 2000-2020." This publication explores the diverse organizational frameworks utilized by EU program authorities over the past two decades, examining their role in promoting regional development and reducing disparities across the Union. To provide deeper insights into the study's findings, DG REGIO and the research team will host a webinar on 22 May 2025 where they will discuss the evolution, effectiveness, and future implications of these organizational models. This online event offers an invaluable opportunity to engage directly with experts and gain a deeper understanding of the strategic management of cohesion policy.
