9th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region will gather international decision-makers to tackle major revision of the Strategy

The 2024 edition of the Forum of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR) will take place from May 15th to 16th, 2024 in Šibenik, Croatia.

The 2024 edition of the Forum will focus on Shaping the Future of EUSAIR. It will be dedicated to the final outcomes of the revision of the Strategy and its Action Plan, as well as the re-evaluation of governance architecture. But more than that – this year’s Forum will have a first look at what  post-27 Cohesion has in store for the Strategy!

It will be hosted by the Croatian EUSAIR Presidency. It is organised jointly by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia, the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds of Croatia, and the Facility Point Project Partner from Croatia (Ministry of Tourism and Sport of Croatia), in close cooperation with the European Commission and supported by the EUSAIR Facility Point.

Highlights

  • Opening Ceremony: The Forum kicks off on the morning of May 15th, featuring an official opening followed by a High-Level Panel addressing the future of the EUSAIR macro-region, especially in the context of evolving EU Cohesion Policy.
  • Presidency Handover: Witness the ceremonial transition of the EUSAIR Presidency from Croatia to Greece.
  • Youth Engagement: Explore pivotal steps towards establishing the EUSAIR Youth Council, emphasizing the crucial role of youth in shaping the region's future.
  • Pledging Conference: On March 18th, engage with EU Foreign Ministers in a pledging conference aimed at fostering collaboration and investment in the Adriatic and Ionian region.

Logistics

Transfers: Complimentary transfers will be arranged to and from Split and Zadar airports.

Accommodation: While organizers ensure preferential hotel rates, participants are responsible for travel reimbursements and lodging arrangements.

Participants of the Forum have the possibility to attend the conference “Interreg: Developing a Vision for the Future" organised in the same venue on the 13 and 14 of May by the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) in cooperation with INTERACT and the Croatian EUSAIR Presidency.
