DG REGIO is of the opinion that the time has come to take stock of the implementation of the Action Plan, particularly in light of the arrival of a new Commission with new priorities and the ongoing impact of the current pandemic. The COVID-19 crisis has shown how deeply affected internal border regions can be, but at the same time, this crisis has revealed the diversity of cross-border regions and their dynamics, including the valuable contribution made by cross-border commuters and the positive outcomes of cooperation.

Please find here the link to the EU questionnaire and let your opinion be heard. The involvement of citizens and key border stakeholders is crucial to formulate inclusive policies that take into consideration the needs of all, including the needs of cross-border communities.

With this public consultation, DG REGIO aims to obtain a comprehensive overview of the accomplishments that have been made in the last few years and the remaining obstacles that continue to hamper cross-border interactions; In addition, this consultation will pave the initial path for formulating constructive recommendations on future policy for cross-border regions.

The public consultation will be available online until 20 September 2020.

We look forward to reading your comments and testimonials!
