YOU made Interreg shine at the EU REGIONS WEEK 2019! THANK YOU

The #EURegionsWeek this year was like a journey, starting with an immersion into the cooperation world with a walk around in the Agora! Many of the programmes dedicated considerable resources to manning a stand and took time to explain to our visitors why #cooperationmatters. We were given an impressive insight into what Interreg is doing, such as ESPON studies & statistics, Interreg Europe capacity building actions, Interact & the #MadeWithInterreg stand, and the TESIM stand explaining cooperation projects on the external borders of the EU.

Throughout the week, visitors had the opportunity to attend many of the sessions (e.g. workshops, participatory labs, talks), where participants of the Week could appreciate either technical sessions on the future of ETC for example, or amusing formats such as the Interreg Slam, and its video competition.

At the Regio Stars Awards Ceremony, Marc Lemaitre reminded us of the three pillars of Europe according to Jacques Delors, former President of the European commission: “Competition that stimulates; Cooperation that strengthens and Solidarity that unites”. Particularly this night, the EU was even more strengthened, since Interreg projects won 4 out of 6 Regio Stars Awards! Congratulations to the winners who competed strongly amongst the 6 categories and to all of the finalists as well.
