The call for pilot projects is foreseen in the framework of the Commission's Communication on EU border regions and will target public authorities that wish to address border-specific legal or administrative problems with an innovative and sustainable approach. It is not intended to replace or duplicate Interreg calls for projects as the budget available is quite small! About 20 pilot projects will be financed with a view to facilitating meetings among the relevant authorities and elaborating new solutions to common problems, replicable in other border regions as well.
