On 25 October the first of the three decentralized workshops planned as follow up to the Commission's Communication "Boosting Growth and Cohesion in EU Border Regions" took place in Mérida, Spain. Thanks to the efficient cooperation with Extremadura region and AEBR, we experienced a quite lively workshop with a number of fruitful exchanges on the ten-point action plan outlined in the Communication. Interesting good practices were also showcased in the fields of bilingualism in the Pyrenees region, joint transport with the tram line Strasbourg-Kehl and cross-border health care in the Italy-Slovenia border region. All the presentations and the video recording of the workshop are available on the Inforegio event webpage.
Two more workshops will take place in Copenhagen on 16 January and in Bratislava on 1 February 2018. They are addressed to national, regional and local authorities as well as to stakeholders with hands-on experience of cross-border interaction from border regions in North and North-Western Europe (Copenhagen) and in Central and Eastern Europe (Bratislava).
