Panoraia participates as an IVY Project Partner in the GreenBuilding Project of the ENI CBC Med Program. The project’s main goal is to reduce energy use and harmful environmental impacts by using renewable energy sources and energy-saving techniques in public buildings in Greece, Tunisia and Jordan. To achieve this, the concept of a “green building” was employed, with sustainability and energy savings being of prime importance. The three countries' building energy renovation studies have many features that enable buildings to save energy, promote sustainability, and improve user comfort and safety. First, the building energy audits were completed to establish the baseline for the three buildings and collect all data related to the lighting system, AC units, heating radiators, windows, equipment, etc. Afterwards, a renewable energy system study was done with photovoltaics being of utmost importance. Additionally, the buildings will have a centralized energy control system (GreenBuilding e-tool), which will monitor indoor temperature, energy use and other factors to reduce energy waste. Employees will be trained on how to operate installed systems properly following energy refurbishment and will learn about the social, environmental, economic, and health advantages of building renovations and energy consumption reduction.

‟Through my participation in this project, I benefit from being able to gain invaluable experience in the world of hands-on outreach and community work. Volunteering with IVY enables the development of valuable skills and strong work habits, such as the ability to communicate effectively, take initiative, manage projects and build relationships. Also, IVY provides an excellent opportunity for individuals to make a positive impact on their communities while also expanding their own horizons.”
